Mofeyisara O. OMOBOWALE BA, MA, PhD is a Research Fellow/Lecturer at the Institute of Child Health, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
I hold a Ph.D in Anthropology from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. My doctoral research was on Space, Sexuality and Power at Bodija Market, Ibadan, Nigeria. I contextualize socio-cultural trends of health and ill-health through anthropological lens with interest in ethno-context of child, adolescent and maternal health. My recent research through employment of qualitative methodology, cuts across socio-cultural and relational context of health, (market) space, sexuality, and gender. I am a Laureate, CODESRIA Methodological Workshop Ibadan/ Nigeria 2008, and also won University of Ibadan Postgraduate Scholar Award 2011, the American Council of Learned Societies-African Humanities Programme Doctoral Fellowship 2012, the Short Term Scholar award and the Brown International Advanced Research Institute (BIARI), Brown University, Providence, USA, 2013 and Cadbury Fellowship (Department of Anthropology and African Studies, Birmingham University) 2014.
